Dr. Chezare A. Warren is tenured faculty in the departmental home of the #1 program for Education Administration in the United States. He has over a decade of professional experience as a public school educator before entering the professoriate. Prolific scholar, his work has garnered numerous accolades including two early career awards from the American Educational Research Association. He served as the youngest president of the Critical Race Studies in Education Association, and has held visiting faculty appointments at NYU, Stanford, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Warren’s publication record includes more than 45 book chapters, reviews, reports, and peer-reviewed articles that appear in top ranked academic journals. He is author of the award-winning book Urban Preparation: Young Black Men Moving from Chicago’s South Side to Success in Higher Education (Harvard Education Press, 2017) and Centering Possibility in Black Education (Teachers College Press, Columbia University, 2021). Dr. Warren is a highly sought after speaker, clinician, and consultant on issues of race, equity, and intersectional justice in education and beyond.
