Kebina Young leads the marketing department at Walker-Miller Energy Services (Walker-Miller), one of the largest Black and woman-owned energy efficiency firms in the country. Headquartered in Detroit, MI, Walker-Miller is a Certified B Corporation and trusted partner with deep roots in the energy industry. Through an equity lens, the company provides thought leadership to utilities, municipalities, businesses, and communities to help achieve energy reduction goals and drive the benefits of clean energy to all communities. With one of the most diverse teams in the industry, Walker-Miller team members design programs, source products, train inclusive workforces, and research and develop innovations that drive the broad adoption of energy-efficient practices and behaviors.

Kebina brings over twenty years of experience in corporate communications, having led and managed strategic communications, project planning, and go to market implementation strategies throughout multiple industries, including energy, public relations/agency, digital fabrication/maker space technology, higher education, print media, radio, and broadcast television.

Driven by a deep-seated passion for equity in educational advancement for all, Kebina currently serves as a facilitator with the Best Classroom Project, an organization founded by Detroit parents. This purposeful organization collaborates with other Detroit families in sharing resources and providing access to K-12 academic options and extracurricular activities for their children.

Kebina earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University and a Master of Arts degree in English from Marygrove College. She resides in Detroit with her son and two dogs.
