Rian English Barnhill is a real estate development executive committed to building meaningful relationships, generating innovative solutions, and increasing access to opportunity for Michiganders. Rian currently serves as the Vice President of Government and Community Affairs for Olympia Development. In her role, she is responsible for creating strategies to significantly increase stakeholder buy-in to ensure The District Detroit is an inclusive and equitable development project. Additionally, she works to secure public financing at the municipal, state, and federal levels for transformational development projects in the region. Most notably, Barnhill secured a package of 800M in incentives for the next ten projects in The District, which include a mix of residential, office, hotels, restaurants, and retail.

Beyond her professional journey, she is deeply involved in the Detroit community, serving on the executive boards of the Detroit Public Schools Foundation, TechTown, and the Charles H Wright Museum for African American History. Rian earned her Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management and is a recent recipient of the 2023 Crain’s 40 under 40 award. She currently lives in Indian Village with her husband, Bryan, and two children, Britton and Riley.
