CO-ED FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
When was the last time you centered your own wellness?
BMEA is proud to announce the launch of the Teacher Wellness Professional Learning Community (TWPLC).
This co-ed fellowship is designed to equip classroom teachers with strategies and support, to implement sustainable and transformative practices that promote individual healing.
By centering their own wellness, teachers are better equipped to prioritize the wellness of their families, students, and school community.
We understand the demands on teachers in today’s climate. For that reason, this PLC offers time and space for deep reflection and transformation among like-minded Black educators.
Participants will receive a $2,000 stipend upon the program’s completion!
The TWPLC meets once per month virtually, via Zoom, and also includes traveling accommodations and registration to the AERA Conference taking place in Chicago, IL in April.

The Teacher Wellness Professional Learning Community Consists Of:
- Monthly Group Sessions: 2 hours per session, via Zoom; Held on Saturdays
- Monthly 1:1s for 30 minutes to discuss wellness goals and other instructional support
- Group Text Messaging: On-Going Check-Ins and Support
- A stipend of $2,000 at the program’s completion will be provided to help offset the time investment this opportunity requires.
- Registration, transportation, and accommodation covered at AERA Conference held in Chicago, IL.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The application window opens on January 25, 2023 and closes on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Interviews will take place February 6th-10th and candidates will be notified of their selection into TWPLC by February 17, 2023.
The application process is conducted in two phases. Phase I consists of the application submission, review, and an invitation to a selection interview for potential candidates. Phase II consists of a 30 min zoom interview with potential TWPLC candidates. Finally, selected candidates will receive an email notification confirming their acceptance into the TWPLC.
